This is a “hands on” workshop so come prepared to have lots of felted fun. Don’t be sheepish…….sign up now! “Fiber Fantasy” 2 1/2 hours Throughout the history of artistic expression, artists have journeyed to exotic places seeking images and experiences out of the ordinary to bring back to the public. These journeys change the artists perspectives and influence their work. Artist Sandi Cirillo had the opportunity to experience the art of Costa Rica and that experience will be shared with you in this workshop. The journey will begin with a brief slide show focusing on the landscape and flowers indigenious to this country. Then participants will try their hand at creating a landscape or floral scene using a variety of fiber materials provided by the instructor. Participants will leave this workshop with a colorful fiber collage evocative of hues, textures and atmospherics of this tropical climate. Everyone is encouraged to bring materials from their own travels to incorporate into their creations. "Plant Imprinting on Fabric” 3 hours Join us as we celebrate the beauty of the world around us. This workshop will teach you how to imprint a design on a canvas tote bag using a variety of natural plant materials. We will begin by experimenting on various fabric surfaces to see how the colors reproduce. Then we will move on to creating a finished product………a tote bag that expresses a one-of-a-kind design. There will be a $3.00 to $5.00 charge for materials provided by the instructor. Participants are encouraged to bring favorite flowers or leaves from their own garden or yard. Just make sure they are kept in water until the workshop begins. You will learn this exciting process here……….after that, the possibilities are endless. And you thought PVC pipes were only used for plumbing! You will also be given the opportunity to paint directly on the silk. The science of art and the creativity of the individual unite in this workshop to produce a finished product that can be worn with pride or given as a gift.
